Lotto Day!

It’s here! It’s here! The Chicago Bulls most important day of the 2024-’25 NBA Season. It’s Lottery Day! A day full of tiny balls bouncing and envelopes chilling. This is the day that determines whether the Bulls pick somewhere in the top 5 of the 2025 NBA Draft or somewhere between 12 and 14.

The most likely scenario will see the Bulls picking 12th overall. Their odds of jumping into the top 5 of the draft are about 8.3%, and 1.7% of landing the top pick. Years of basketball frustration have really driven home the fact that the Bulls need a generational superstar on their roster. Cooper Flagg is roundly regarded as one of those generational prospects, and yet the Bulls went out of their way this past season to not tank for the Duke star.

The only way for the Bulls front office to land the all important generational talent will be for them to accidentally luck into the top pick in this years draft. Fingers crossed, prayers from Da Pope, and maybe it happens this year.

What about the Bulls not so secretive plan to sign a superstar free agent in 2026? They’ve lined up their cap space so they can give a player a max contract that offseason.

That would be awesome if they could sign someone. But I’ve been around too long to put my trust in a superstar free agent signing with the Bulls. My hope rests in those pernicious ping-pong balls, and odds slimmer than a sewing needle.

Will Lady Luck smile on the Bulls? We’ll find out tonight, shortly after 6pm Chicago time.

Until we do, thanks for reading, thanks for subscribing, and GO BULLS!
